Artist Victoria Estok created Audio as the Realm of the Dead as a memorial space for her hometown of Roosevelt, New Jersey. For one day, in May of 2007, 31 voices could be heard in Roosevelt Woods. These voices were collected from answering machines messages, home videos and interviews from an oral history archive.
